2027 GMC Sierra 1500 – Guelph New and Used trucks

Spy shots have already revealed the upcoming 2027 GMC Sierra in heavy camouflage, including both the upscale Denali and the off-road-focused AT4 trims. Now, a prototype from the opposite end of the lineup has been spotted—the entry-level 2027 Sierra Pro, essentially GMC’s version of a work truck.

This particular model appears in a Crew Cab Short Bed setup and stands out with its basic steel wheels, emphasizing its no-frills purpose. Up front, the hood shows noticeable sculpting, with a larger central bulge flanked by two smaller raised sections.

The front fascia features a grille design made up of four horizontal bars, each split into two slats. A camouflaged GMC badge sits in the upper portion. On either side are the headlights, with slim LED daytime running lights positioned above and the main lighting elements partially hidden beneath the camouflage. It’s likely that a more distinctive lighting signature is concealed, and it’s still unclear whether the main headlights will use LED projectors or simpler halogen units like the current base model. The bumper design rises slightly in the center and dips toward the edges, roughly aligning with the outer edges of the grille.

Up top, the roofline looks clean, with no visible shark-fin antenna, suggesting GM may be relocating it—possibly integrating it into the rear spoiler. Interestingly, there’s also no traditional whip antenna visible. Along the sides, the truck shows redesigned mirrors with updated mounting, as well as a more squared-off rear door window shape compared to the outgoing model. The black door handles appear to have been reshaped as well. The wheel arches retain their squared design, and at the rear, the absence of wheel liners exposes parts of the suspension and bed structure.

At the back, the truck features LED taillights and a standard tailgate rather than the MultiPro setup. The tailgate uses a conventional handle instead of a button, and both the CornerStep and license plate area have been reshaped. A single exhaust outlet exits on the passenger side, while a tow hitch and spare tire are clearly visible.

Overall, the truck’s proportions remain very similar to the current Sierra introduced in 2019 and refreshed in 2022. That’s because it will ride on GM’s updated T1-2 platform—an evolution of the existing architecture—meaning the underlying structure largely carries over.

Looking ahead, the 2027 Sierra is expected to bring a redesigned exterior and interior, along with new sixth-generation small-block V8 engines in 5.7L and 6.6L forms. The Duramax diesel will return, and the TurboMax engine is expected to gain more power and torque. Additional updates and refinements are also anticipated across the lineup.
